  27. The last picture is amazing - as if you two made eye contact, the insect has that look that says: Did I sign a release for that picture" or "This is my better side, so snap away. A bit of attitude from this mantis - but a great capture!

  40. A mantis freaks me out just a little bit less than a big hairy spider freaks me out. These are gorgeous photos to look at, but I'm sooo glad you shared photos and I didn't have to be face to face with a real one.

  60. My mother used to find the egg sacs of these wonderful creatures and hatch them in a safe place from wasps and birds. Mother started do be a an organic farmer when she, in the 50's, saw the devastating effects of DDT.
